Thank you all for your support during this 2007 Election. It has been my honor to serve you these past four years on the Boulder Valley School Board. I appreciate your vote of confidence and ongoing commitment to helping make our school district the best in Colorado.

The past four years have been a remarkable experience and I've never been more proud -- or humbled -- by the work I'm engaged in. Serving on the School Board is not always fun. But when I reflect on how far the District has come, I find our work to improve the school district incredibly rewarding.

Over the past four years, we've improved BVSD's finances, educational excellence, administration and infrastructure. Perhaps most important, our District has opened up new dialogues within and among key District stakeholders. There is much to be proud of... but also much more to do. That is why I am running for re-election. In my second term, I will aim to:
    • Close the achievement gap and ensure that our kids are educated not only to do well on tests, but also to be creative, problem solvers and succeed in the competitive 21st century marketplace;
    • To expand professional learning opportunities for teachers, THE most important factor in education;
    • To enhance administrative operations and support the new superintendent;
    • And to develop an even more interactive and productive relationship with community stakeholders.
