For the past twelve years, Dr. Helayne Jones has been a consultant specializing in implementing school reform through improving business processes within the educational system. She has promoted the involvement of business, community and faculty in educational reform, and encourages leadership and innovation in the management of education.  In addition, Helayne has worked extensively with private sector and non-profit organizations in facilitating strategic planning, board communications and managing the impact of change on diverse groups. Helayne currently serves as President of the Boulder Valley School Board, as a trustee of the Rose Community Foundation, the chair of the Rose Education Committee, an Advisory member of the Governor’s P20 Education Council and a board member of the Presidents Leadership Class at the Univeristy of Colorado, Boulder.  Helayne is a past member of the boards of the Colorado Commission for High School Reform, Impact on Education,, Allied Jewish Federation, Harvard Women’s Studies in Religion Program, Congregation HarhaShem,; E town; Dairy Center for the Arts, Boulder High School Parent Council.

Prior to consulting, Helayne spent 3 years as an Adjunct Professor at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY and twelve years in the technology industry including several executive marketing positions at Wang Laboratories. Helayne received her Doctorate in Educational Administration in May of 1995 from Columbia University, Teachers College with an emphasis on School Reform. She received an MA English, Magna Cum Laude in October of 1977 from the University of Massachusetts and a BA Honors College from the University of Michigan in 1975. Helayne and her husband have two sons Adam, 21 and Matthew 17.  They reside in Boulder,  Colorado.
